You Don't Need to See the Whole Road to Keep Going

You Don't Need to See the Whole Road to Keep Going

Imagine you're driving from Los Angeles to New York.

You know where you want to go.

New York.

The destination isn't the problem.

But when you get into your car in Los Angeles, can you see New York?

Of course not.

Especially if you're driving at night.

Your headlights might only show you a small part of the road in front of you.

And somehow, that's enough.

You drive that part.

Then you can see the next part.

And then the next.

Knowing the destination doesn't mean knowing every step

Maybe somewhere along the way there's construction.

Maybe a road is closed.

Maybe you take a wrong turn.

Maybe you find a better route.

You adjust.

None of that means you didn't know where you were going.

It just means you couldn't possibly know every detail of the trip before you started it.

I think life works like that too.

I do think direction matters

I don't mean just start moving without thinking about where you're going.

Actually, I believe the opposite.

What kind of life do you want?

What kind of work do you want to do?

How much money will you need for the life you want?

Do you want stability? Freedom? A family? Your own business? A certain lifestyle?

Those questions matter.

But there's a difference between having a direction and needing to know exactly how everything will happen.

That's where I think a lot of us get stuck.

We want certainty before we move.

You probably won't get certainty

You can research.

You can plan.

You can make smart decisions.

And you should.

But you still won't know everything.

You might choose a career and later discover something you didn't know about it.

You might start college and change your major.

You might take a job that leads you somewhere completely unexpected.

You might meet someone who changes the direction of your life.

There are things you simply can't see from where you're standing today.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't have a destination.

It means you don't need to see the entire road yet.

This is part of Escape STUCK™

I created Escape STUCK™ for Gen Z and young adults who are trying to figure out career, education, money, independence, and what kind of life they actually want to build.

The goal isn't to predict every step of your future.

It's to get clearer about your direction, understand your choices, and start moving.

Then you learn.

You adjust.

And you keep going.

Just like driving at night.

You don't need your headlights to show you the entire trip.

You need them to show you enough of the road to keep moving toward where you want to go.

You don't need to see the whole road to keep going.

Still figuring out what comes next?

That's really why I created Escape STUCK™.

It's a 9-week journey for young adults who are trying to figure out things like career, college, money, independence, and what they actually want their life to look like.

Not because I have all the answers. I don't.

But I do think we need a place to ask these questions before making some pretty big decisions.
