Joy Isn’t Something You Get — It’s Something You Return To
My focus in life is joy.
Not the kind that comes from outside wins,
other people’s reactions,
or the next thing on the list.
For a long time, I thought joy was something you earned.
Something that showed up once things settled down.
Once life felt easier.
Once the work was done.
But what I’ve learned is this:
Joy isn’t something you get.
It’s something you return to.
It lives inside us — quietly, steadily,
waiting for us to remember it.
Not by doing more.
Not by fixing everything.
Just by pausing.
Breathing.
And coming back to ourselves.
