How much do you actually earn each month? How much would rent cost where you want to live? What about utilities, groceries, transportation, insurance, and everything else that comes with living on your own?

Then look at your options.

Maybe your first place has a roommate. Maybe you stay home a little longer while you save. Maybe you rent before you ever think about buying. Maybe increasing your income becomes the first goal.

Independence doesn’t have to happen all at once.

The important thing is to stop looking at “moving out” as one giant impossible goal and start figuring out what would actually make it possible for you.
