Growth Is Hard. Staying Stuck Is Hard.

Growth Is Hard. Staying Stuck Is Hard.
Sometimes we stay with something because we already know it.
A major.
A job.
A relationship.
A plan we made for ourselves a few years ago.
Not necessarily because it's working.
It's just familiar.
And changing it means stepping into something we don't know yet.
That's hard.
But staying can be hard too.
I think we sometimes forget that part.
You can spend years trying to make something work because you've already put so much time into it.
And then what?
If you change direction, was all that time wasted?
I don't think so.
Maybe you learned what you don't want.
Maybe you learned something about yourself.
Maybe you got skills you'll use somewhere completely different.
Or maybe you just finally admitted:
This isn't working for me anymore.
That's something too.
You don't have to change everything.
I'm also not saying that every time something gets difficult, you should leave.
That's not growth either.
Sometimes growth is staying and doing the hard work.
Sometimes growth is leaving.
You have to figure out which one you're doing.
That's the hard part.
So maybe the question isn't:
Which choice is easier?
Maybe it's:
Which hard is taking me somewhere I actually want to go?
Still figuring out what comes next?
That's really why I created Escape STUCK™.
It's a 9-week journey for young adults who are trying to figure out things like career, college, money, independence, and what they actually want their life to look like.
Not because I have all the answers. I don't.
But I do think we need a place to ask these questions before making some pretty big decisions.
