Today feels big.

Two and a half years ago, I started asking a question.

I was not sitting at a desk trying to outline a new project. I was sitting in my living room as a Gen X mom of three Gen Z daughters, watching the world change faster than the advice we grew up with.

I kept thinking about the path we were handed.

Go to college.
Get a job.
Buy a house.
Retire comfortably.

That map used to lead somewhere clear.

Now it often leads to debt, anxiety, comparison, and a quiet feeling of being behind.

I watched my daughters work hard. I watched them try to plan responsibly. I watched them think about careers and independence. And I kept wondering how they were supposed to build solid, confident lives in a world that no longer plays by the old rules.

That question stayed with me.

It turned into long conversations at the kitchen table. It turned into reading, reflecting, listening. It turned into trying to understand what actually builds independence today.

I realized something important.

A lot of young adults are not lazy. They are not unmotivated. They are not incapable.

They are overwhelmed.

They were given a map that does not match the terrain anymore.

And when the map does not work, people start doubting themselves.

That is where the idea of being stuck began to take shape for me. Not stuck because someone lacks ability. Stuck because the system changed and no one updated the instructions.

From there, a framework slowly formed. A way to understand what happens inside the mind under pressure. A way to move from survival and autopilot into clarity and choice. A way to build confidence through action instead of waiting to feel ready.

What started as worry became a structure.

What started as questions became a mission.

And today, that mission became a book.

Escape STUCK is officially out.

I wrote it first for my daughters. I wanted them to have simple tools. Not hype. Not lectures. Not guilt. Just practical clarity about how their minds work and how to move forward even when the world feels uncertain.

But as I wrote, I realized this conversation is bigger than my own family.

There are so many Gen Z young adults who are busy but not moving. Functioning but not fulfilled. Doing everything right but still feeling like something is off.

This book is for Gen Z.

Today I am celebrating in a simple way. A small cake. Balloons. My cat wandering through the room. A quiet pause with my family. Nothing dramatic. Just gratitude.
