Not my chaos
You know that moment when someone walks up to you… and your stomach drops? Yeah. That.
Let me tell you something I wish I learned years ago.
When someone comes to you with drama, their tone is tense, their energy is heavy, and you instantly feel your chest tightening?
You don’t have to carry it.
Like, let’s say a coworker comes up to you and says,
‘Oh my god, you won’t believe what happened…’
and suddenly your whole body goes into fixer mode.
Or your partner walks in with that face…
and before they even speak, you already feel guilty or responsible.
In that moment, quietly in your head, say:
‘This is not my chaos.’
It doesn’t mean you don’t care.
It doesn’t mean you’re cold.
It just means you’re not taking their emotional backpack and strapping it to your own body.
You can listen.
You can be kind.
You can even hold space.
But it’s still not your chaos.
The second you stop absorbing other people’s storms, your whole nervous system relaxes.
You get to stay you, calm, clear, steady, even if someone else is spinning.”
If this hit you… go take the ‘Who’s Running Your Life?’ quiz.
It’s eye-opening.
